Description

This is a blended course that uses a combination of self- paced online learning and instructor led virtual class meetings. The first 30 days of the course is self-paced distance learning using the JSOU Blackboard learning platform. Followed by 5 days of instructor led virtual class meetings utilizing Zoom.gov. The course teaches students to collaborate as part of a complex array of actors and environments involving IA national security efforts. Topics include synchronization of countering trans regional terrorist organizations (CTTO) and CVE efforts, key doctrine and policies, law enforcement and intelligence communities, organizational and cultural differences, and the developmental community.

Audience

This course is designed specifically for the special operations community, interagency, and international partners. The student's profile is E5-E8, W1-4, O1-O3, and their civilian agency equivalents (i.e., GS-5-13) assigned to USSOCOM, TSOC, or a component directly supporting joint or coalition special operations.

Remarks

The SOFIACC has a Distance Learning portion that opens 4 weeks prior to the resident/virtual course date. Students must complete the DL materials prior to the beginning of the resident/virtual course date.

Materials

All required texts and materials are available to the student on the JSOU e-Campus using the Blackboard Learning Management System. Each student MUST have the Zoom app, audio / visual capability, and access to commercial internet and the JSOU e-Campus site prior to and throughout the course.

Accreditation

JSOU is currently an accredited educational institution accredited through the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) - a national accrediting agency recognized by the Department of Education. This course has been reviewed and accredited.
