Douglas Jordan

Mr. Doug Jordan is a Master Instructor and Researcher in the Department of Applied Research at The Joint Special Operations University, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. He was previously the Course Director for the Special Operations Forces- Security Cooperation Course (SOF-SC) from 2016-2024, the Information Related Capabilities Seminar (IRC-S) from 2017-2024, and for SIA 5671 the SOF-Influence and Operations in the Information Environment (SOF-IOIE) from 2020-2023. 

JSOU is the joint educational component of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), a global combatant command that provides fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) and synchronizes DOD planning against terrorists and terrorist networks.

He was detailed from 2019-2020 to the Office of Defense Cooperation, US Embassy Ukraine, as the Ministry of Defense Advisor for Strategic Communication. Mr. Jordan is a Master Instructor at JSOU responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering senior leader education programs in support of U.S. and International SOF personnel, including strategic and operational leadership and coordinating joint special operations and irregular warfare education. He earned Defense Security Cooperation Intermediate Certification in 2020. He graduated from the Air War College (Non-Resident) in 2021.

Mr. Jordan possesses a BA in Mass Communication, an MS in International Relations from Troy University, an MA in Management from Webster University, and an MA in Communication from the University of South Florida. He is a Doctoral Student in Strategic Communication at Liberty University, specializing in Social Media. He also holds certificates in non-profit management and social marketing in public health and certifications in online and post-secondary education.

He joined Army Special Operations in 1997 with a specialty in Psychological Operations and has been assigned to a variety of joint and service special operations units, including PSYOPs Operations Director SFOR, Battalion Operations Officer, and as the Chief, Support Division, Joint Military Information Support Command, MacDill AFB, FL. After retiring, Mr. Jordan served as the senior information operations advisor for the Commander's Advisory and Assistance Team (CAAT), Headquarters, International Security and Assistance Force (ISAF), Kabul, Afghanistan.

Lieutenant Colonel Jordan retired from active military duty on 1 October 2009 after 20 years of service. His career in government civilian service began in 2010 at the Joint Special Operations University. Current as of April 2024.
