Theater Special Operations Command Staff Preparation Course-Virtual
Description
The Theater Special Operations Command Staff Preparation Course–Virtual is an unclassified, foundational course that prepares newly assigned and supporting personnel to contribute effectively within a theater-level joint special operations headquarters. Across four modules, learners examine how the TSOC operates within the USSOCOM enterprise and geographic combatant command, integrates SOF capabilities within the theater operating environment, applies foundational theater-planning processes, and coordinates with joint, interagency, multinational, and partner stakeholders. The course establishes a shared baseline for participation in TSOC staff processes and for follow-on functional, role-specific, and advanced education. This Theater Special Operations Command Staff Preparation Course-Virtual (TSPC-V) is a 16-hour unclassified distance learning event taught online. Students will follow instructions in the TSPC-V Welcome Introduction upon enrollment. Method of Instruction: Online asynchronous distance learning (DL) course. Students must complete all coursework by the last day of the month.
Audience
Priority of enrollment is given to Military and civilian personnel assigned or providing support to a TSOC, to include SOF Enablers, NG-SODs, and Reservists who require a foundational understanding of the TSOC at the Operational Level. Additionally, TSOC counterparts on the COCOM functional staff. Finally, personnel that expect to be assigned to a JSOTF/SOJTF and require a Joint SOF understanding. Recommended ranks are E5-E9, O3-O6, and GS/civilian contractors supporting the TSOC.
Remarks
This course opens on the first of the month and ends on the last day of the month.
